Fire & Life safety Specialist

Galesburg, IL

Duties

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, ensures the design, construction, repair and maintenance of all fire, intrusion and life safety systems meet all state, federal and local codes and requirements. Receives and evaluates work orders and requests, investigates requests and troubleshoots problems where appropriate, establishes priorities and coordinates with contractors, when required, to make necessary repairs. Provides subject matter expertise related to systems. Manages the work of outside contractors to make sure all work meets Bridgeway, Inc. requirements and applicable codes. Reviews contractor invoices for approval of the Director of Facilities. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities will maintain all keys and locks for our Galesburg, Monmouth, and Kewanee facilities, maintain a spreadsheet of keys assigned to whom and the retention of keys for employees that have left Bridgeway, Inc. Review all key requests and lock work orders and coordinates with contractor when needed. Ensures the monthly maintenance is coordinated with local service stations on all local vehicles and ensures all vehicle issues are reviewed and taken care of by local service centers as well.


Education

Associates degree in Fire science or safety or equivalent experience preferred; High school diploma or general education degree (GED); One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.


Skills

Must possess good driving record; must have good reasoning ability; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to climb ladder; must attain/maintain First Aid and CPR certification; must attend Bloodborne Pathogens training annually; must pass background checks.

$12.00 - $14.40 / hour
