Vice President of Human Resources

Galesburg, IL

Duties

Leadership role in a progressive human service organization in West Central Illinois available. Vice President of Human Resources will provide comprehensive human resources administrative oversight, inclusive of employment, compensation, benefits management and counseling, employee relations, employee health and safety and risk management. This position requires proficiency in both knowledge and expertise of HR principles, policies and practices, as well as the ability to apply that knowledge behaviorally. A sound understanding of learning strategies and principles will assist this position to organize and direct the education and training for staff, including the determination of need and development of programs.


Education

Requires strong understanding of employment law and be able to effectively provide consistent interpretation and technical advice and knowledge to employees and supervisors within the company. This individual will oversee all disciplinary issues throughout the organization and ensure consistent, fair and legal handling of actions taken by maintaining a consultative process within the human resources department. Must be able to develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the organization. Included in this area would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, employee education and career development. The best candidate will be someone with high energy, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required and minimum of five years of related experience. SHRM Certification required.

Candidate should demonstrate results driven abilities to work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Should possess expertise to work with and build effective relationships with multiple systems. Must possess strong business acumen in non-profit management administration. Generous benefits package.
