Community Support Coach

Macomb, IL

Duties

The Community Support Coach supports individuals with developmental, intellectual, psychiatric and other disabilities as they make choices about their lives and play valued roles in their communities. The Coach encourages the people they serve to explore what they want out of life, develop and enhance their life skills, and to chart their own journeys. The goal is to assist the person to lead a full and active life within the community.


Education

High School diploma/GED with 1 year related experience and/or training. Must be 21 years of age or older. Experience in human service field desirable. Must at a minimum, meet the DMH credentialing requirements of a Rehabilitative Services Associate (RSA) and have DSP status. In addition, need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team.


Skills

Other Requirements

Must complete 40 hours of classroom curriculum and 80 hours of OJT’s (On-the Job Training) for Direct Support Person (DSP) certification. Must attend Blood Borne Pathogens and OIG Training with first 10 working days of hire and annually thereafter; must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification after hire. Mush have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

$12.00 - $14.40 per hour
