Systems Support / Purchasing Specialist

Galesburg, IL

Duties

  • Provide support for helpdesk ticket tracking system for janitorial/maintenance, monitor the helpdesk ticket queue and provide assistance to fellow staff members as necessary.
  • Solicit feedback regularly, via customer satisfaction survey, from customers and report the performance of the services provided. Communicate those ideas and recommendations for improvement of service.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of existing departmental standards and procedures.
  • Establish a working relationship with all of the personnel in the multiple offices / locations.
  • Verify items and specifications of purchase requests; present upon request.
  • Search inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is sufficient quantity.
  • Enter request into Purchase Order system. Use on-line ordering when available.
  • Scan copies of purchase orders, work orders, and requisitions on appropriate drive.
  • Compile records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
  • Compute total cost of items purchased.
  • Confer with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
  • Deliver ordered items to related departments.
  • Coordinate shipping/receiving with delivery services.
  • Efficiently conduct and maintain physical inventory and produce applicable reporting.
  • Perform research for future purchases as to what is available and pricing.
  • Facilitate Naeir purchasing, receiving, and distribution.
  • Request bids from suppliers and make evaluations.
  • Prepare bills for routing to Accounting Department
  • End of month cost unit inventory.
  • Promote a positive working relationship with other department staff, as well as other Bridgeway employees, clients and customers.
  • Provide assistance and backup to other purchasing agents within the organization.
  • Assist Director of Information Services with various Information Services Department.
  • Participate in cross-training as directed.


Education

Associate’s degree preferred, HS/GED required; 1-3 years of practical computer hardware and software experience.


Skills

Must be able to communicate respectfully and effectively in both oral and written forms; must have good social and assessment skills; must have the ability to work independently and interact appropriately within the public domain.


Other Requirements

Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and be insurable. Also must obtain and maintain Blood Borne Pathogens, OIG, Corporate Compliance and Security Rules. CPR and First Aid training after hired.
